Why do these companies have a subsidiary in tax haven? I read that its to avoid being taxed in the jurisdiction of the parent company.
Also, its said that these companies have a significant benefit over countries like Switzerland in choosing such tax haven countries for their subsidiaries.
Why not keep it simple like keeping it in the head office?
I thought it is common practice to keep subsidiaries in the head office for simplicity. Also, the head office does not have any network or overhead to incur and so the benefits must be that much.

I think the main reason for setting up subsidiary subsidiaries in the Caymans, and other tax havens, is to gain access to cheap financial services. For example, there is no ban on money laundering in the Cayman Islands, where banks have become criminals’ favorite accounts.
Getting access to the Cayman banking system is often easier than getting access to the banking systems in Switzerland, which are heavily regulated, taxes all kinds of banks because of the high amount of money paid to the tax authorities on large bank incomes, and is uncomfortable for the Swiss banking industry in general.
