When “Mind Portal” Gameplay begins, you are in the pool. You can choose to jump into the water, stay on the pool, wait until you are able to access to the second level. As you wait, you are hearing the music that is the basis for the game. “You’re breathing, you’re existing”, you can hear the lyrics of the song “Everybody Knows” by Milkshake.
The first level of the game is a pool. The level has four colors (red, blue, gray and green) and four different levels (upper, middle and lower left and right), which are also divided in four zones. Each level represents a different dimension, allowing you to move between dimensions, which is represented by the different-colored levels of the pool. This way, you can transport to other worlds.
In each level, you will have the opportunity to collect eight orbs to unlock a new space or get an item. These orbs will not be able to be replenished until you are in the next level, meaning you will have to invest a lot of time to find them all. For this reason, you have to carefully choose when you jump from one level to another, because you do not have time to search for the orbs.
Each level has also a maze, which is a puzzle that is hard to solve. If you can pass the maze, you will get closer to the exit and you will be able to transport to the next level or get the item you need to complete a level. The maze will not be equal to the others, so you will need to adapt your solution to the condition of each level.
When the story begins, you will realize that the Mind Portal System is malfunctioning. At some point, the black boy who lives in the room with you will disappear and you will know that the portal is not working. For this reason, to find out what is happening, you will have to go through the portal’s parts and some puzzles.
When you finish the story, you will have two different endings. Depending on the ending, the further levels will change.
Atmospheric beautiful music:
During the game, you can hear music from “Everybody Knows” by Milkshake. You can also hear music from “Sandcastles” by Celeste, “The Wayward Bandit” by Kem and “Heyday” by Kamato.
