About The Game Classic indie platformer Madotsuki has always been a highlight to me; I remember being so enthralled when I first played it as a kid. For a long time I never dared to try and produce anything of the sort myself but then I found an indie game development group that I wanted to work with. These guys had a background in making 3D adventure games which I think would be a perfect fit for this kind of platforming inspired by those. The development process for this game was not only long but a lot of the development took place over 6 years. I myself struggled with setting my own expectations and what level of quality to aim for; a bottomless pit of infinite possibilities to keep things interesting. Unlike most games, we didn’t have any of the game’s assets produced in advance of the development process. I was tasked with developing levels, character sprites, enemy designs, and character animations and I had to work at a rapid pace, of which I’m not afraid of at least. In some ways this is the advantage of indie development; you can have a lot of creative freedom but you also face the restrictions of working with limited resources. Another challenge was to make the game challenge to play but not so unforgiving that it feels like a pain to play. Not everything had to be perfect to be “playable”. The least important thing in a platformer is how “perfectly” the game is balanced and polished. And we did put a lot of effort into polish. I call that the inevitable sacrifice you make when you go indie.
\nTo set the stage for you, let me tell you about the setting. Imagine if there was a world whose inhabitants were extremely scared of Witches and Demons. Let’s say there were Witches everywhere. They were up to any kind of mischief, even using their powers to create an inhumane demon race to dominate the world. The Demon Lords have been locked up in the lowest levels of hell where they never get to rule over anything. But Witches, while not being on the level of demons, are still here.     -Microsoft OneNote makes simple is to make and to paste into the right place. As an example below
    \nis a photo of my garden, after i put it on my iPhone, just tapping on it then click on "oneNote<\/strong>" and
    \ntap on the image.<\/p>\n

    On my iPhone then open the Notes app then click on the image, allowing me to make a note.
    \nTo make a new note tap on the "oneNote<\/strong>" app that appeared and now tap on "Menu".
    \nFirstly tap on the "+" and then tap on "New".<\/p>\n

    -In the following picture you can see i have an image, a couple of words and also a couple of white
    \nboxes. Tapping on "oneNote<\/strong>" on my iPhone and tap on the image brings up a note. And,<\/p>\n

    i can now add a couple of words to the image and another one to the note.<\/p>\n

    Audio, production and design with a story: The first part of the game story was written by Amos Roddy who was joined on the creative side by the design and animation team, nDreams and Red Thumbs. The two other partners of the company, Ben and Chris Gollings, took on the music composition and production. The main theme of the game was composed by Dr. Drexel Grant. All these artists have one thing in common: they love the water and the beach, and being involved in the creation of In Other Waters gave them a nice excuse to play in those (very, very) nice waters and beaches.<\/p>\n

    The technical, musical and artistic complexity of In Other Waters is such that no one composer would be capable of representing it. In order to show this game\u2019s true musical allure, nDreams is using a system that will allow us to distribute the music according to the needs of the soundtrack: the digital orchestra.<\/p>\n

    The digital orchestra is like an orchestra, except that all the musicians are in the computer.<\/p>\n

    In Other Waters is composed of a total of 9 synthesizers. Of which 3 are playing a base that makes the game\u2019s emotional and musical journey possible:<\/p>\n

    A distinct, but not very strong, background theme, which will play to the complementary characters (the men of the ship, mostly) in each of the world maps.<\/p>\n
