cwRsync is a repackaging of the Rsync Windows application that comes with a client GUI (Graphical User Interface) and was developed to help advanced computer users perform fast remote file backup operations and also synchronize various sets of data in a convenient manner.
\nThe original Rsync application makes use of its own Rsync algorithm that provides its users with a quick way of synchronizing multiple files at once. The way it does that is that it sends only the file differences between the recipients, without both file sets being available at one end before starting the operation.

Here are some tips and tricks that can help make the experience a bit smoother:
\n1. If you are using Rsync to synchronize two PCs that are the same model, then use the same Linux distribution version
\n2. If one of the PC’s is located in different geographic location, consider using TLS to encrypt the password
\n3. If some security settings are not “all” set to “read” and “write” permission, you may not be able to access the backed up files. Set the permissions to “read” and “write” for both of the files.
\n4. If you have enabled the “Never overwrite\/skip files” or “Skip if newer” option, then if a file already exists, it will not be overwritten in the newly made backup. Be sure to check the “Hard links” option.

Windows XP is officially out of extended support and the final updates will be available only in support channel, which as most likely will not be available in the retail channel (via Windows Update).
\nYou don’t need to do anything, but it could be an issue if you don’t want to be dependent on third-party providers for updating.

\n1) The Windows Update service is not reliable, so new updates may not be available.
\n2) The client is configured to contact a third-party update service, and the Service Control Manager cannot stop the third-party update service, etc.
\n3) The third-party updates are not available because they are unavailable for Windows XP.
\nWhat to do?
\nSome Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, are offering support for Windows XP until April 8, 2016, so as long as you have this extended support, you can still use the latest updates.
\nIf you can’t wait for this extended support, I would suggest that you use one of the official releases like 32 bit version, Windows Server 2003 in a different environment. These official OS releases can be installed on 32-bit versions of Windows XP and are fully supported until April 8, 2016.
