The Battle for Middle-Earth is a single-player role-playing video game in the Lord of the Rings license, based on the animated film.It was developed by Turbine Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts for the PC in 2008.
\nThe gameplay is similar to the Baldur’s Gate and Final Fantasy VI games with a 3D isometric viewpoint and a combat system which is a mixture of action and puzzle solving. Quests are presented as discrete action-adventure events.The game takes place in the fictional world of Middle-earth, after the events of the film trilogy.
\nSome of the material in the game is based on the novel “The Silmarillion” by Christopher Tolkien.
