The most efficient way to perform the update would be to run do-release-upgrade while keeping the terminal open (e.g. use nohup so that it keeps running in the background). If that was not possible you could try running a python script that downloads the tar.gz (and all the dependencies) and unpacks it.

The alternative to that is to copy the dist-upgrade.tar.gz from /var/cache/dist-upgrade/ and remove the folder /var/cache/dist-upgrade/. This way you get all the packages compiled and installed at once but it also means that you have to wait for it to complete before you can run the do-release-upgrade command.

If you prefer, you could also download the.deb files for all your packages (including the.tar.gz) and manually install them.

The advantage of the first option is that it doesn’t need the user to have root permissions to run (the.deb files). Also, everything (except do-release-upgrade itself) happens in the background.

How to have Generic Interface in Project ( or how to avoid having and using it instead)?

I’ve just been assigned to work with an Interface which looks like this :

interface IFoo {

//Set of methods

}

Now I’ve created a project by itself and I’ve created an instance of the Interface in Main.

This is how I’ve done it :

FooTest.foo = new Foo ();

Now how can I create a instance of this interface in different parts of the code?

I’ve tried creating an instance in a separate class but it makes that class to inherit an Interface and not the Foo class but how can I create it in the Main class?

A:

Creating the interface in a separate class is the right way to do it. You can include your main class, create the instance of it using Activator.CreateInstance() method and assign it as an instance of that interface.

How do I make my PHP form GET values?

When I’m trying to get $_GET with echo $_GET[‘name’]; I get nothing, but when I’m using the PHP redirect function to echo the $_GET[‘name’] I can see the value.
