Lightshot is a simple Chrome extension that enables you to capture any part of your screen, and use drawing tools before saving it locally or to other locations.
\nIn order to use this tool, all you have to do is drag the CRX file to the "Extensions" tab in Chrome. Its features become accessible by clicking a button placed near the URL search bar.
\n Frames can be captured to PNG, JPG or BMP via the context menu of the selected area. Before doing so, it is possible to use some standard drawing tools, such as pen, line, arrow, rectangle, marker, text and color, in case you want to highlight particular parts of the image. Undoing actions is possible.
\nThe alternative is to upload Lightshot to PrntScr.com and use the extensive graphics editing functions provided there. This is the same website where shots can be uploaded, showing the direct link on the bottom right corner of the screen afterward.
\n In addition, snapshots can be directly published on Twitter, Facebook, VK, or Pinterest, printed, or copied to the Clipboard. You can also ask the small tool to look for similar images on Google's search engine. Keyboard shortcuts are supported for quicker adjustment.
\nThe small extension does not burden Chrome's overall performance, like slowing it down. It has a good response time and did not cause the browser to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.
