The software “R.A.L.E. View” was first developed in July 1995 under the name “Nebulase” at the University of Freiburg [1] on an IBM PC-XT under MS-DOS v3.3 with a CGA graphic mode display.

The software has been rewritten and improved by Tim Stöbele (Soundstream, Austria). The Matlab code for the spectral analysis is based on the well known and widely used script from the physics and engineering department at Stanford University. Some other improvements and optimization regarding the FFT algorithm and the algorithmic function IFFT has been made. Beside the originally used script there are now two different and new versions.

The second version uses the code of Matthieu Coursant from the Stanford Physiology group. Very easy program to use, and fast to load. Simple to play the file and see how it sounds. I have put a few.wav files in and have received very accurate lung sounds. Good program.
