These images were captured in Bodie, California.
It’s one of the best-known ghost towns in America, which was once the center of Nevada County’s gold and silver mines.
Today, it’s a barren, abandoned ruin, slowly crumbling under the desert sun.
And while these buildings may be standing and being used by visitors, this abandoned place never will be used for living.
The abandonment of this area of California dates back to the 1850s, around the time the Great Gold Rush.
At that time, Bodie was the center of a vast mining industry that was fueled by California’s mineral deposits, including gold, silver and mica.
The town grew from around 1849 to 1852, but then slowly emptied over the years.
By 1965, there were only a few people and businesses left to assure that the town would never be reoccupied.
The most well-known businesses today are Bodie Ghost Town and the Bodie Museum.
The latter allows visitors to take a step back in time to experience life as it once was, nearly 150 years ago.

This area of California is beautiful and almost forgotten, as if time simply used to pass it by.
Even if you’re not into paranormal activity, Bodie provides a good place to take your camera and snap away.
Plus, the architecture is fun to look at — it’ll take your mind back in time to the Gold Rush era.
And if you’re scared of ghost stories, there are plenty of places to take shelter if you need to be alone, as well.

10. Ghostly Fog – ghostly trees surround the abandoned road as the cool fog settles in, reflecting no light.

What’s New in the Ghost Town Theme?
Warming the place up by changing to a lush, autumnal landscape, a plant-covered trunk is posing in front of the similarly dusty, weathered and boarded up buildings that lean in the westward direction.
The player will then have to take on the challenge of leaving the main area, and venture to the rugged terrain dotted with parched, barren trees, and howling wind.
As the player reaches the far-off peaks, that design will again begin to fade into sepia as a mystical scene is set.
This visual development really adds to the feeling of desolation you get when looking around this ghost town.
I would give this art 10/10 if it was from a top-quality piece of art, but this isn’t.
That fact makes the art 10/10 though.
Also on the theme, how about a “Ghost Town” RPG, with a fantasy theme? Not plot-filled like that “Earthbound” game. But isometric, like Wizardry, with a little bit of Diablo and little bit of Pokémon.
I think that “Venice” has a good aesthetic and an atmosphere that I’d really like to have as a setting, and I was thinking about doing a retro game, but it would probably be very different from the typical RPG formula. Perhaps a combat system that is reminiscent of the Mega Man series. I guess I’d like to try something new (at least for me) and see how it turns out.
i like the way they styled rpg 6, but i have to admit im not bothered by a silly heart shaped plane, and theres also looks like an sprite of some kind is running under a car of some sort….
some times i get the feeling im just doing this for the sake of it!
Yeaaaah, I think I’m stuck. One of those games that I’m just never satisfied with. It’s great to look at, it has so many possibilities for a lot of great ideas, but that poor SP, it just doesn’t work. This is going to get downvoted no doubt, but I can’t help it.
